Madame Bovary Book Discussion with Mark Schenker In-Person
Madame Bovary, Flaubert’s first published novel, is arguably his greatest. Emma Bovary has become one of the most famous characters in world literature, and critics continue to debate and interpret her life, which, in its depiction of the conflict between idealism and reality, remains every bit as relevant today as it did when first published.
Please join us on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 when Mark Schenker, Senior Associate Dean of Yale College and Dean of Academic Affairs at Yale University, leads a discussion on this groundbreaking novel. This will be an in person program, taking place in the Thornton Wilder Auditorium from 6:30 until 7:30 PM. Registration is required due to limited seating.
Copies of the book are available at the library, and downloadable books are available through Hoopla and Overdrive/Libby.
