The Push Book Discussion In-Person

What parent hasn’t been concerned with their child’s behavior? Questions about what is normal childhood behavior and what might need professional intervention are prevalent in today’s society. Is there something wrong with a child who hits, or do they just need a boxing class? Is your child too old to still be having temper tantrums? In Claire Martin's review of The Push in the January 5, 2021 issue of the New York Times Book Review she states, “This sort of hand-wringing, at its most extreme, is at the center of Ashley Audrain’s taut, chilling debut novel, The Push.” The author describes her debut novel as a “psychological drama told through the lens of motherhood."

This will be a hybrid meeting meaning that you can either join us in person or via Zoom. The meeting will be on May 23, 2022 from 6:30-7:30 pm. Please sign up in advance for this event. If you do not have a card, and you are a Town of Hamden resident, you can obtain one at any of the library’s branches or online. Copies of the book are available at the library and downloadable books are available through the website, www.hamdenlibrary.org by using the Libby app at Overdrive.
