For Connecticut Animals: What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Hotter

For Connecticut Animals: What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Hotter Online

Have you ever wondered why birds have evolved such colorful feathers? Or have you been curious about what fiddler crabs do with their one, oversized, claw? This talk will explore the traits of animals that live right here, in Connecticut, and consider how and why these traits have evolved. By the end you’ll be able to tell your friends what a cardinal’s red feathers have in common with a fiddler crab’s oversized claw and a deer's famous antler. The presenter, Hannah Weinberg-Wolf, is a cognitive neuroscientist and museum educator with a  PhD in behavioral biology and social neuroscience from Yale University. This talk is brought to you by the Hamden Public Library in cooperation with the Yale Peabody Museum Speakers Bureau. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is requiredRegister here, or call 203-287-2680. After signing up, you will receive a Zoom meeting link by email.
