Decoding the Mysteries of Cats: Why Cats do What They Do! Presented by Stephen Quandt Online

Do you ever wonder why cats behave the way they do? Do you have a specific cat behavior problem that you need help with? Get answers for your questions by attending Hamden Public Library’s virtual program Decoding the Mysteries of Cats: Why Cats Do What They Do!, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

Feline Behaviorist Stephen Quandt explains cat behavior based on evolution and adaptation. He examines cats’ relationship to hunting and resting, their sense of identity in being a predator or prey, cats’ attention seeking behavior, and the relationship between hunger, appetite, metabolism and exercise. Quandt, who has been working on understanding cats since 2002, explores how cats relate to humans and why they favor certain individuals. For eight years he was employed by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to lead their Field Investigations and Response Team’s work. This team assists with responding to the impact of natural disasters on animals, as well as investigating cruelty cases. He is presently a feline behavior specialist for the Animal Care Centers (ACC) of New York City.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Register here, or call 203-287-2680. After signing up, you will receive a Zoom meeting link by email. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Hamden Library.
