Cookbook Book Discussion Group

Cookbook Book Discussion Group

Hamden Public Library presents a book discussion on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 7pm via ZOOM.
The book is "Women in the Kitchen: Twelve Essential Cookbook Writers Who Defined the Way We Eat, from 1661 to Today" by Anne Willen, founder of La Varenne Cooking School in Paris, culinary historian, rare cookbook collector, as well as cookbook author.
The book gives a background of the first women cookbook authors from England and colonial America to some of the most influential chefs and cookbook writers of the 20th and 21st century. The author has included the original recipes along with the updated versions. Please join us as we delve into who these women were and why we can thank them for shaping American cookery and the beautiful cookbooks we see published today. There is no fee for this program but please register for the event.  To place a hold on the title click here.
