
Planning Your Vegetable Garden: Fall Planting with Rachel Ziesk In-Person
Timing your plantings so that you get the most out of your fall season. By looking at maturity rates, times to germination, etc., you can plan your fall garden so that everything you plant is at full maturity before we start getting frosts. Planting fall crops can double the yield of your garden. Learn about which plants can also overwinter in your garden, so that you can enjoy them next spring before anything is even planted.

Rachel Ziesk is an Advanced Master Gardener with a knack for communicating her love for gardening. In addition to organic farming and beekeeping, Rachel also teaches organic vegetable gardening classes, which include classes on essential flowers and herbs for vegetable gardens, medicinal plants among many other topics. She has taught multi-class courses as well as single class events. She has taught in conjunction with Common Ground, with funding from the USDA, at Neighborhood Housing Services, Edgerton Park Community gardens, Milford Community Gardens, among others. She also plants, tends and harvests organic vegetable gardens for clients, as well as taking care of ornamental gardens using organic techniques and stressing the importance of using native plants to help the environment.
