
Hubble Space Telescope's 35th Birthday Party! In-Person
April 24th is Hubble Space Telescope's 35th anniversary! Since its first day of operation, it has taken 1.6 million images and been the source of significant findings in astronomy. Join us for a talk and solar observing event to celebrate Hubble Space Telescope and the science it inspires!
Registration is recommended for the talk, as seating is limited. The sun viewing activity has no max capacity.

(3 - 3:45 PM) First, a talk by Mary Clare Greenlees (M.A. Student at Wesleyan University in Earth and Environmental Sciences—concentration in Planetary Science) in the Friends Room to explain Hubble's imaging capabilities and what we're looking at in Hubble's most fascinating pictures.
(3:45 - 4:30 PM) Second, safe solar viewing with the Astronomical Society of New Haven (ASNH) by Josh's Jungle where with the help with eye safe filters and instruments, we can look at features on the sun!
