Saturday Afternoon at the Movies-Picnic (1955) In-Person

To coincide with the Mainstage Ensemble at Hamden High School's presentation of William Inge's play Picnic, Theatre - Hamden Public Schools, we are presenting the 1955 film starring William Holden, Kim Novak and Rosalind Russell. Nominated for 6 Academy Awards, a classic romantic melodrama, the film dramatizes 24 hours in the life of a small Kansas town in the mid-20th century during the Labor Day holiday. It is the story of an outsider whose appearance disrupts and rearranges the lives of those whom he encounters.
