Making the Magic Happen with Costumes. Presented by Dr. Pat Trautman In-Person

Join us for an engaging and insightful program presented by Dr. Pat Trautman, who is celebrated as the “Wardrobe Engineer” for her prolific work in theater and film costuming. Dr. Trautman will delve into the magic of costuming. She will draw on her extensive experience, from classic plays like “Our Town” to modern masterpieces such as “The Greatest Showman", and acclaimed film productions such as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the "Bridgerton" TV series. Samples of costumes from these productions will be on display during the event. The event will culminate with a dynamic Q&A session, providing a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and aspiring designers to interact directly with Dr. Trautman. This free program is offered in conjunction with the The Whitney Players' 20th Anniversary Celebration series. Seating is limited. Registration is recommended.

About Dr. Pat Trautman 

As Founder and President of Global Garment Engineering, Dr. Pat Trautman has performed in depth consultations in the pre-production technical design process for the apparel complex worldwide. She has been well established globally as a highly acclaimed and recognized apparel sizing and fit expert and has traveled to dozens of countries troubleshooting pre-production technical design issues in factories and mentoring pre-production staff. Dr. Trautman is also renowned for her work as a technical director at factories in several countries in South America, as well as in Sri Lanka. Recently, and working with several major studios, she has shifted her focus to replicate film character costumes from big screen for uses including promotion, museum exhibits, and retail partnerships world-wide. Dr. Trautman received BA and MA degrees in Fashion History and Theatrical Costuming from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in American History from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She worked as a Professor of Technical Fashion Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
