Let's Talk Mental Health and Recovery at a Community Conversation with Dr. Mark Costa and Graziela Reis In-Person

Join us for a free Community Conversation on Mental Health and Recovery on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the first floor Program Room, Miller Memorial Library, 2901 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden, CT. This Community Conversation is one of three programs offered in connection with Mental Health Awareness Month. This conversation offers an opportunity for community members to ask difficult questions or express apprehensions. Do you know somebody who experiences a mental health issue? Do you have questions about treatments and how you can help? Voice your concerns, and get answers at this free program. Dr. Mark Costa, Associate Research Scientist in Psychiatry, and Graziela Reis, MPH, from the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health will facilitate this conversation.

About the Presenters and Facilitators 

Mark Costa, MD, MPH, is an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health, Department of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Costa has been involved in various research initiatives on serious mental illness, social inclusion, health disparities, and substance use disorder (SUD). He passionately advocates for community-based participatory research and the social inclusion of people with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. He is also a member of the Keep the Promise Coordinating Council.

Graziela Reis, MPH, is a Project Coordinator of Yale School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, Program for Recovery and Community Health. She is a director of the Mental Health Connecticut Board, and a director of the National Alliance of Mental Illness Elm City, New Haven, Connecticut. She has a seat at the World Health Organization, Quality Rights Committee.
