Saturday Afternoon at the Movies-The Woman King

Saturday Afternoon at the Movies-The Woman King In-Person

Join us in the Friends Room of Miller Library, 2901 Dixwell Ave for a free movie screening of The Woman King, starring Viola Davis. The Woman King is the remarkable story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s with skills and a fierceness unlike anything the world has ever seen. Inspired by true events, The Woman King follows the emotionally epic journey of General Nanisca (Oscar®-winner Viola Davis) as she trains the next generation of recruits and readies them for battle against an enemy determined to destroy their way of life. Some things are worth fighting for....

Please note-Our elevator is currently out of service, and the Friends Room is on the second level. We are hoping to have our 1st floor Program Room ready to use by 2/25, and will relocate there if possible.
