Ideas and Issues for Shade Gardening in Southern CT: Let's Not Throw Shade on Shade! In-Person

When it comes to gardens, not all shade is equal. If you find gardening in the shade to be a challenge, you are not alone. You may have areas in your garden where you are dealing with dry or moist shade, full or partial shade, tree roots, or other conditions where you are gardening in less-than-full sun. With his encyclopedic knowledge of all things "plants", Mr. Larson will discuss the various types of shade in your gardens, encourage you to embrace the challenges, and will share some planting ideas.

Eric Larson is the Coordinator of the UConn Master Gardener Program for New Haven county. His 50+ years in gardens throughout the eastern U.S. include over 30 years in an academic setting, having supervised the Haverford College Arboretum and Yale's Marsh Botanical Garden.
